bwebbman 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2007 Ok Lets see if I can explain my needs the first time without confusion. In the Tools section I choose Renumber people in the selected data set. The choice is From #1 to 440. The results is: The data is alphabetized but the ID numbers are not. The NEED: Data alphabetized with corresponding matching numbers from 1 (A) to 440 (Z) The Problem: When I use SS2 my photos are not alphabetized on my website. Jim Byram 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2007 Please read the TMG 'Renumber People' help topic. 'Renumber People' has absolutely nothing to do with making the person ID numbers correspond to an alphabetical arrangement of all individuals in the database (although you could do this manually person-by-person which would be very laborious and would work fine until the next time that you added a person to your database). You need to start a new topic titled 'Second Site 2-Controlling the sort of exhibits on a website' or take that issue to the SS mail list which is a more appropriate place to ask the question. The reference field is searchable on the picklist. I would keep a zero filled number of digits in the numeric field for sorting, as 001 (A) through 440 (Z). As for me, I use the reference field for a hierarchical unique person identifier. Edited November 26, 2007 by retsof
