I reinstalled TMG v8 again, it seemed to install fine with no error messages. Now I am back where I was in the first place. I click to open the program. The little circle appears for about 1/2 second then nothing. Like the minute it opens it crashes? Chappy stuck in limbo without TMG!

I missed Ms Schmidt's entries from earlier until the post today. (I am slow!) So I read her posts and noticed she also had Comcast as her ip. I uninstalled Constant Guard and TMG appears to be working as perfect as before this problem started. My fingers are crossed and I thank you Kay Schmidt! Chappy

It crashes by immediately closing! Wham! It disappears!

The welcome window was already showing at startup. Even though I can start up TMG after rebooting. It immediatley crashes if I attempt to edit or add a record. I did refer this to support@whollygenes.com.

I have turned Norton off and this does not affect whether TMG opens or not. It will start once after booting this computer. It will not start if I close the program and try to reopen it without rebooting. TMG is the only program this is happening with. Chappy

I restarted without the fix and I again could run TMG, but again it would not load a second time.

Firewall off, tried to open TMG, did not work! Chappy

So I am not sure I did this right. I ran the fix it and it restarted my computer. I then opened TMG and it ran. I closed it and tried to open it again. Nope! I had to run the fix it again and restart. So did I not do something or do I have to run the fixit everytime I want to run TMG?

OPPS! I was in TMG and it suddenly would not respond and closed. Now it will not start again! UGH!

I am sorry, it is v8.4!

Hi Virginia! I was reading a previous topic started by Bill who seemed to have had a similar problem. Twards the end he talked about getting TMG to start after changing a startup setting in msconfig. LIGHTBULB! Earlier this week I was getting rid of a sneaky Mallware that hides & the instructions for getting rid of it included unchecking it in msconfig after going from normal startup etc etc. Anyway I went back in and changed back to Normal startup and TMG loads and RUNS! So the moral of the story is "Most problems are self inflicted!" Chappy

I am trying to reinstall TMG v8 after I encountered a problem. I would click on the icon on my desktop and nothing would happen. This started this morning after successfully running the program after upgrading from v7 last March. So I uninstalled it and deleted the program files as suggested. Now when I attempt to reinstall v8 I get the following application error- "The instruction at 0x77323fbb referenced memory at 0x004d0020. The memory could not be read."

I am using the latest 8.4 and the typical install.

Still getting the same error message. Thanks to all who have tried to help so far! Chappy

I restarted and ran the memory diagnostic with no problems detected.

I again checked to see all files were deleted, then restarted my computer, checked for files again, then tried again to reinstall. The install seemed to be going fine when I got a massage that said "The application encountered a problem it could not handle and stopped.

I checked to make sure all files had deleted. Attempted to reinstall and got the same error message!

I found the hidden folder in the virtual store folder & deleted it.

Not sure about the "hidden folders".

I had not run the program for several weeks, but inbetween I did run a registry cleaner. All other programs run that I have tried.
