I would find it very helpful to have the link to View New Posts appear at the bottom of the forum pages as well as the top. After scrolling down to read the latest post in a topic it is necessary to scroll all the way back to the top of the page to click the link there.
I don't find the Next Oldest and Next Newest links all that helpful, because I may be taken to a topic I may not have any interest in reading.

Doesn't the back arrow on your browser return you to the View New Posts list after you read a topic?

Yes the back button does take me back to the list of forum messages BUT if you use the back button the topic you were reading does not get marked as read - folder icon remains orange vs. blue for read topic. :sadwalk:

I use the back arrow (not actually - I use the mouse gestures in Opera) to get back to the list of topics. After reading all the topics I care to, I click the orange icon for the folder, which marks the folder and all it's messages as "read." Works well for me. :)

I'm with you, Glenn. I've long wished for the same thing, not only at the end of the View New Posts list, but at the end of all list. For example, when I go to
> Wholly Genes Community > Other > Site Issues and pick an entry (yours), I can read down through the replies but I have to scroll back to the top to click on Site Issues again. That puts me back at the Issues list again AND records that I have read your note and replies. Then I can pick another note to read.

I appreciate your tip, Terry, but it still sounds like a "work-around". It would be easier to have a repeat of the community site at the bottom of the list.

You can click Site Issues or whatever is between the Next Newest and Next Oldest links at the bottom of the page and that will take you back to the top of the Message List. I don't think it would be too difficult to add a bit of code to add the View New Posts link there as well :whistling:

Great -- I hadn't tried that one before, but it seems to work in that it takes me back to the main list and takes the "new" mark off of the list. Thanks for that tip. Now we just need something comparable on View New Posts...

Bill.
