Mary, There are no standard tags that include census years in their labels. Any Census Tags you have like that are custom tags. Either you created them or you imported from another program than had them. When you say the information on those you find are different, which fields do you mean? I would expect the Sentences to differ somewhat because the information recorded on the various years differs. Where are you trying to edit the Witness Sentences? You should be able to do that on the Tag Type Definition screen, but not on individual Tags unless a Witness exists in that Tag.

Yes, you can have two sessions of TMG open at the same time. Just open one, then open TMG again. You can open the same Project in both, but TMG will not let you edit the same record in both at the same time.

Jim is not talking about an option in Sources, but rather about the Option in Reports. The report option changes the result for all Citations in that report, regardless of the option selected in the individual Sources. Thus there is no need to make the change in each Source so long as you consistently choose the "no ibid" option in each report you use.

Open the Master Tag Type list. At the lower left check the box "Show deactivated tag types." If it now appears, click it then the Edit button. At the top right of the Tag Type Definition screen check the "Active" box.

Don't bother with the disk you have. It's of no value, you should throw it away. You don't need an "update," but rather the full TMG 9.05 installer. Yes. Open the Master Event List (Tools menu). Sort by Type of Event, then type in the Tag Type name in the Search window.

Trinity, I think that's a "Layout" setting, so you have to save the Layout after making that change otherwise it will be gone when you re-open.

Judy, As explained when you asked this question on the TMG list last week, if it's a temporary restore to test the ability to make a restore, it doesn't matter. It only matter if you are intending to use the restore to enter new data.

Ken, Is your issue how to get reports to Word from TMG 7? If so, Jim's reply tells you how to deal with that. Or is your issue how to do a direct import from TMG to Legacy?

Yes, when you move a project to a new system, all the old paths follow. Did you read the article that Michael recommended?

If Center the Current Window doesn't reveal the reminder, I suggest making the main TMG window full screen, then position the Citation window way off to the side before trying to open the Reminder so it will not be covered by the Citation window. I've found hidden windows to behave normally after being found this way and clicking on them to bring them to the front.

As I suggested before, the marriage does not appear in any of the family or tree views. What shows up is the fact that they are recorded as parents of a child.

The Tree view doesn't actually show marriages. The Family view will show the date and place of a marriage event. Is that what you see? Otherwise, both the Family view and Tree view will show a "spouse" if they have children together.

Beetle, The auto-relationship tag is not recalculated automatically, because of the time it would take to do that all the time. One way to do that is to go to Preferences>Current Project Option > Other and un-check the Automatic "Relation" Tag, click Apply, then re-check that box.
