  1. I set up a custom tag called FSID to store FamilySearch IDs for my folks. Not being conversant with Tag types, I set it up as an address type of tag, and stored the ID in the Title field. I found out that the FS tag ID standard is FSFTiD, and that the Title field is usually for royalty. I'll deal with Title issues later. What I would like to do without re-learning FoxPro (if I can even find a copy to use), is to find all of the people I've added the FSID to (about 50 or so, which I can do in a report), add an FSFTiD tag, copy the value of FSID to FSFTiD, then delete the FSID. Not asking too much is it? I noted a comment by John Cardinal about 15 years ago that stated his utility could change tag types, but I just don't see that capability anywhere in the current version (7.4). I can do all of the above manually, of course, but is there any way to do it mechanically? Thanks.
  2. Accents - Confusion

Help! I haven't used the program in a while and I have forgot how to use accents. Example: I have "cleaned" and "uncleaned" to help me determine who are new people in my project who I need to confirm and "clean up." But I have forgotten how to change the value from N to Y on that person so that the color changes. Can you help! Anita Tally
  3. I have lost the ability to add any tags to a record. I can use control-U for burial, or control-d for death and control-b for birth but selecting such a tag does nothing. What must I do to recover that functional characteristic? thanks
  4. Since my data in TMG has been added to over the years by others that preceded me, I have found multiple Source definitions for the same thing, such as "1930 census", "Census 1930" and "U.S. Federal Census 1930" in the Master Source List. I can see how many times each one is used, but I want to see which person records they are associated with before I merge them. The same is true in the Tags list, but here there is no Merge button, so I really need to find the two records that use "1930 Census" tag so I can change them. How do I search for these person records using Source? How do I search for person records using Tags?
  5. I need to transfer the value of one of my (customized) flags into a (customized) tag for every person in my Project. Anyone who could please advise me how to do this in an easy and secure manner? Thank you very much in advance! Regards Bjørn Høgstmyr, Norway (TMG user since ca 1998, not very Advanced though)
  6. Reminders

How can I get rid of the reminder, Tag Type "Death"? Thank you.
  7. Remove tag sentence

The support and tutorial materials offer much advice on editing tag sentences, but I wonder if it is possible to designate one tag (perhaps Indiv Note) that prints and exports without any preliminary sentence - just showing the content matter from the tag box? The editor seems to insist on adding a phrase of some sort.
