Citation to exhibits

Recommended Posts

How you colleques document source for Exhibits?

I have many photos received from relatives or scanned from books.

Mostly I have those books as a Source allready and just wish to add them as citation

Thank you!

Peter

Since there is no direct way to link sources to exhibits, one way to handle this is to create a custom tag type in the Other group to document your exhibits. Link each exhibit to a tag to the source with an appropriate citation. If you don't want to output the duplicate exhibits, simply make the tag type sentence '--'.

Thank you Jim,

I tought I was right not finding "direct" way to do this.

In most cases I have just one primary photo of a person and then direct citation link would be easy.

For "Group Photos" I do exactly as you told. It is also very easy to get all people in photo listed thru wittnesses field.

Works perfect especially with Second Site.

Peter,

You might try an inline citation ([CIT:] ... [:CIT]) in the Caption field of the exhibit. As I recall, some users discovered that worked in both TMG and SS.

John,

thank you for this idea. Need to try. That would cover "legal" part of it.

Direct citation link to source would be perfect. Maybe one day.....

What do you mean? Adding a [CIT:] / [:CIT] code will add a citation to a source.

John,

thank you not giving up!

I was not aware that also link to source can be made.

I tested it. Works with Journal reports aswell with SecondSite.

Thank you once again!

Peter
