sam.m 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2011 For those of you who do not follow the "RootsWeb: TMG-L Mailing list" "Jim Byram" reported the following from the Whollygenes cruise Re: [TMG] V8
Jim Byram 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2011 And a while ago, I posted on the mail list... Hi. This is to give everyone an update. Bob's computer developed serious problems about a week ago while he was on the cruise. He just got it back and some cleanup will be required before he can start working on TMG8 development again. We are working on the change log and the developers are working on some remaining issues that must be resolved before TMG8 can be released. The endpoint is in sight and everyone is working to get it done. Just to be clear, the release will not happen today (before Thanksgiving). We'll try to keep everyone updated as things progress. We had 8 children and grand-children and seven dogs here for Thanksgiving with all staying over a day or two. If TMG 8 had been released on Wednesday think how bad it would have looked if Grandpa was not joining in the festivities. Now I am ready. Mike
Neil Grantham 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2011 Thanks for the updated information. Is there any information anywhere (yet) with pricing of the new product? IE how much will it cost me to upgrade 7 to 8?
Andy3rd 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2011 Thanks for the updated information. Is there any information anywhere (yet) with pricing of the new product? IE how much will it cost me to upgrade 7 to 8? I know it is overkill but I set aside $100 to cover TMG8 and teh latest version of SecondSite.
Karla Huebner 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2011 I've (alas) been too busy to do much family history these past few years, but now that I've got a 64-bit computer, I'm adding myself to that long list of users who are itching to get version 8 in time to make some progress over Winter Break! Version 7 is installed but I just haven't felt like dealing with XPmode. Karla
Michael Hannah 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2011 I know it is overkill but I set aside $100 to cover TMG8 and the latest version of SecondSite.I have nothing to do with Wholly Genes, but based on history that is probably enough. Currently full cost for TMG Version 7 Gold is $60 ($70 with CD), and currently SecondSite is $30. I would assume some cost increase for TMG 8 due to inflation over the several years since TMG 7 was released. However, current TMG 7 discount is 50% to upgrade from the most recent earlier version. So assuming a similar discount for upgrades your budget is likely quite sufficient. (Just my crystal ball )
