Arman 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2005 (Using TMG v6.05 and the sample project.) I want to see all persons having a name variation tag in the Project Explorer. Therefore, I applied the following filter: Filter 1) - Field: Name-Var... - Subfield: # of Tags - Operator: > Is greater than - Value: 0 The result is 0 names, but there are a number of people in the project with this tag. I tried another filter: Filter 2) - Field: Name-Var... - Subfield: Any name field - Operator: > Is not empty The result is that all people in the project are shown, instead of only the ones with this tag. When using the Name-Nick tag, the results are OK. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
collybs 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2005 Arman I do not get the same result as you for the first filter - I get everybody in the project (as I do for your second filter). This is correct as the default name type is "name-var" therefore when the first name is input for someone they have a name-var tag. Try using a filter for number of name-var tags is greater than 1. Arman 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2005 (edited) Thanks for your help. I understand it now. However, but in TMG v6.05 (just updated) the result is 0, even if the number of tags in the filter is > 1. In v6.04 the result was all people. I guess that you are using 6.04. Vera Nagel 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2005 Hi, Arman, like Peter and Terry using any of your filters described I also get the correct result of everyone in the project (after applying update from v6.04 to v6.05). Vera
ggilbert1 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2005 Would selecting the Non-primary names (Radio button at bottom) produce the desired result. In my sample project filter: Name-Var #of Tags >1 Non-primary names selected. returns 23 people filter: Name-Var #of Tags >0 Non-primary names selected. returns 48 people filter: Name-Var #of Tags >=0 Non-primary names selected. returns 48 people filter: Name-Var #of Tags >=1 Non-primary names selected. returns 25 people
Terry Reigel 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2005 Would selecting the Non-primary names (Radio button at bottom) produce the desired result. The filter will produce the same number of people in any case. But since the Project Explorer is actually a list of names, not a list of people, you will get a different number of names depending on which types of names you specify with the radio buttons. Arman 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2005 Hi, For some reason, the problem described disappeared as suddenly as it came. The day after upgrading to v6.05 the filters worked OK. Sorry for bothering you.
