I didn't do a lot of customization mostly out of the box for Second site.

My own site:
http://bassett.net/secondsite/kathryn-p/I happen to prefer Family Groups Sheets to narratives, so I use the SS grid format as that comes the closest to a FGS.
I also have data for several friends and clients available at:
http://www.ourwebsite.orgBorup || Galitzer || Golden || Hooker || Wells || Miles || Nevins || Rippetoe || Stanley || Zanteson
I use Dreamweaver as my web development program.

The
Tributaries — Brooks Families of New England website provides examples of "tweaked" TMG4 and SecondSite. In the case of TMG, the tweaking is priimarily linguistic, in the form of customized sentences — sometimes at the template level, but most often at the level of the individual tag. TMG users looking for more "literary", less repetitive, less "canned" prose output might find a site visit worthwhile.

www.tony-collins.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/family/index.htm Mostly covers the Scottish side of the family, Chalmers, Martin, Todd, Sharp, Kerr, Aitken, with connections to Marwood, Borland, Dallas, Henderson, Rodger, and their descendants. Little information yet on the English connections of Collins, Burrell, Schofield, Wright and Butler.
Data collated using TMG6 attaching photocopies of documents and photographs relating to events. Photocopies too large for website so transcriptions created using html template and attached as text exhibits.
Excluding graphic exhibits from the site excluded the photos as well as the 'documents' so 'hidden' html was added in L10 field to link to hand-coded exhibit pages in the same style as my Second Site format.
Second Site produces all the main site, Side-by-Side format, raw data. The other pages are hand-coded to fit.
Image maps created using Adobe ImageReady 7.

The following site deals with mine (and my wife's) families, and other loosely related trees. There is a lot of information on early colonial times as our families have been here for a while.
http://www.richard.damon.name/genealogy/index.htmMuch of the information is from secondary sources and still needs more through confermation.

Greetings!
For this work in progress, I created a custom theme using the generic Second Site theme, editing with Note Tab Lite and making new graphic images and files with Adobe Elements.
My Main entry page for the
Davis-Bean Trees includes photo galleries (well, I have the first gallery started so far), family histories, guest book, and other miscellaneous documents which were created using Cute Site Builder. This website links back and forth to my TMG
Genealogy Pages which were created by Second Site.
Family surnames I've been concentrating on at the moment are of early emigrant ancestors mostly from England, Ireland and Scotland who settled in the early 1600s in Virginia, Maryland and New England:
Bean, Davis, Fairchild, Gregg, Hilton or Hylton, Kingman, Lewis, Marsh, O'Bryan, Pierpont, Sherard, Stilson, Warfield, Wood and White.I would welcome comments and questions!
Cheers!
Kerry

My site must be the most basic there is! I lack the courage to experiment with the options, so please feel free to mail me with your hints and tips.

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~belldietz/This site is under construction as you read this. I am combining about 15 family TMG databases into one. As I do 50 - 100 individuals I upload the revised database to the web site so please check back for additions. Eventually there should be about 5,000 individuals in it.
Charlene's paternal ancestry is basically from Maryland, Beall, Purdum, Lewis, Browning, Walker, King, Duckett, Cheney, Miles, to name a few. Her materal ancestry is from Virginia via Missouri. Graham, Crockett, and Montgomery are the main names.
Michael's ancestry is limited on the paternal side but the Jackson side is from Kentucky via Missouri.

http://www.l-dunaway.net/My daughter (Lisa) and I work on the site together.

While my wife (Gert) seems to be interested only in hearing about some of it and some of the history behind the scenes.

Sometimes it drives me crazy.
We follow all family lines and all branches, regardless of where it takes us. Yes, our lines really do go from Royalty to Rogues!
We also have a page For Kids that my daughter maintains. It's a list of links of places she has actually visited with my grandson or links that have some special value For Kids. The For Kids page and a couple others were done with FrontPage, but there are so few that it's hardly worth mentioning.
We hope you enjoy your visit as much as we enjoy working on our Family Tree!

http://www.genattic.comMy web site contains ancestors of my husband and I, and allied families, and is in narrative format. I created the site with Second Site, and some post-editing, including the addition of graphics, using FrontPage.
Our surnames include Bell, Brown, Burkey(e), Cox, Ess, Fletcher, Freeman, Jones, Junkin(s), Moberly/Mobley, Nave, Pollard, Shields, Smith, Turner, Vaughn/Vaughan, Weinstein, and Young. Primary locations are Kentucky, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
I love the flexibility of both TMG and Second Site. When I started planning my site, I had ideas I wanted to incorporate, including showing census detail in narrative format, and a way to browse surnames by state. Using TMG and Second Site, I was able to achieve most of my objectives with minimal knowledge of HTML.
